Landlord insurance (DP-3 policy) covers your rental property's structure, your liability as a landlord, and lost rental income if the property becomes uninhabitable. It costs about 25% more than homeowner's insurance because tenants tend to file more claims than owner-occupants. It does NOT cover tenants' belongings.
